LAZARTE
Lazarte is a festival that celebrates the connection between Japan and Ecuador through symbolism, art, and human connection.
The logo emerges from the fusion of an origami crane — a symbol of hope and longevity — and traditional mizuhiki knots, whose interwoven forms represent unity, respect, and good wishes. This visual union expresses the festival’s purpose: to build cultural bridges through art, dialogue, and shared celebration.
The name Lazarte is born from the combination of two key concepts: lazo (bond) and arte (art). Lazo evokes emotional ties, authentic connections, and meaningful encounters, while arte represents creativity as a shared language capable of weaving together diverse sensibilities.
As part of the visual system, grids inspired by actual die-cuts of origami figures were used, taking advantage of their folds and cuts as a foundation for the graphic composition of BTL pieces.
Under the tagline “Where art and culture intertwine,” Lazarte presents itself as a cultural experience that honors tradition, values the present, and builds bridges toward the future, a festival that not only showcases, but connects.
